modus:
9 rounds Swiss - knock out system. The loser of the knock out continues playing in the Swiss tournament. Points reached in the knock out are taken over into the Swiss tournament.

Venue:
RAMADA Hotel Dresden, Wilhelm-Franke-Str. 90, 01219 Dresden

time regulations:
90 min 40 moves/ 30 min till drop of the flag
From the first move will add per each move 30 sec.
In case of a draw a rapid game (25min plus 10s per move) with opposite colours will take place. Should the rapid game end in a draw as well, a decisive Blitz match has to be played. White has 4 min, black 3 min plus additional 2s per move for each player. For black a draw is sufficient to remain in the knock out system. The winner of the match gets a full point (the loser none) even though the normal game ended drawn.

July 10: 4pm opening ceremony/ 1st round;
July 11-16: 2pm rd. 2-7;
July 17: 9am rd. 8;
July 18: 9 am rd. 9, closing ceremony 3.30pm.

Registrations after the deadline can only be accepted if the
capacity of the tournament allows for it.
The entry fee will than be increased by 20€
Personal registration in the tournament hall on July 10 until 3pm.

In der 8. Runde konnte sich der sehr stark spielende Georg Meier gegen den Iraner Ehsan Ghaem-Maghami durchsetzten.In der letzten Runde schenkte er Ghaem-Maghami jedoch den Sieg.Nun musste die Entscheidung im Tiebreak gefunden werden.Die erste Tiebreak-Partie entschied wiederrum Georg Meier für sich und ging so mit einem guten Rückhalt in die zweite Partie.In dieser riskierte Ghaem-Maghami alles opferte sogar einen Turm, aber es reichte nicht zum Ausgleich.Damit feierte Georg Meier einen verdienten und ungefährdeten Tuniersieg.
Georg Meier setzt sich durch!
